First off, HUZZAH to the Blackhawks +1.5 (-120) last night! That’s not just once, or twice, but THRICE we’ve made some money off those Chicagowans! But now, we’re on to the most anticipated games of the week…NFL Playoffs Round 2!

It’s Saturday morning as I type this, excited to go live on TikTok and talk to the #MaxximusFaithful But what news will I bring the audience today? Parlays, of course. Most will be waiting on the infamous MOONSHOT parlay that we currently have a record of 4 weekend wins and 4 weekend losses. The losses were sad indeed, but the wins have totaled over $7,000 in those 8 weeks.

Today, however, I want to offer a few “safer” parlay option, if there is such a thing.

Houston Texans vs Baltimore Ravens

We all know these two teams have faced each other already this year, resulting in a 25-9 win for the Ravens. In that win, Lamar had ZERO touchdown passes. So put that stat in your back pocket as we approach the first parlay of the day. There were however 3 rushing touchdowns that day and Gus Edwards had ZERO of those. J.K. Dobbins had a rushing TD and Justice Hill had 2 that day.

This September 10th game was a fluke for these TD scorers. Dobbins has had 1 touchdown all year and this game was it. Justice Hill has had 3 TD’s all season, 2 in the aforementioned contest and 1 more three weeks later against the Steelers. So for the last 12 weeks, he has not been a factor.

Gus Edwards however, is pretty damned consistent. With 13 touchdowns this year, he’s the go to guy for “gettin’ the rock, over the line”. He’s scored a TD in 3 of last 4 games… (only carried the ball 10 times in the final game of the season).

The Texans run defense is pretty good, just not very good in the red zone, ranking 27th in red zone rushing TD’s.

So that’s my long drawn out argument for a Gus Edwards “Any Time Touchdown (ATD)”.

Here’s a couple of other legs to this parlay I really don’t have to make a case for:

  • Ravens -2.5
  • Lamar Jackson 25+ yards rushing
  • Gus Edwards ATD
  • +199

Green Bay Packers vs San Francisco 49ers

When looking at matchups, the first thing most people do is to internalize who is going to win the game at hand. Let’s face it, the Packers “might” cover, but they’re not winning this game. There’s just too much offense on this 49ers team, and unlike the Cowboys, the 49ers have a very good coach in Kyle Shanahan who will exploit the weakness of the Packers (rush defense) with lots of looks to Christian McCaffery and Deebo Samuel.

There’s one thing these two teams have in common, and that’s QB’s who can and will throw TD passes. Brock Purdy has thrown for 31 touchdowns this year and has only not thrown a single TD in two games all season. One early game against the Rams where the 49ers rushed for 3 TD’s and ultimately beat the rams 30-23. The other game with zero passing TD’s was against Baltimore on Christmas day. I credit the Raven’s usual dominate pass defense, but I will say Purdy made a lot of bad decisions that day logging 4 interceptions.

But that was then, and this is now, and I think both QB’s get at least 1 passing TD today. The stats support it and I would love to say the weather supports it, but it’s going to be drizzling rain all day and night today in San Francisco but shouldn’t be a factor overall.

With that said, we can’t forget about ALT passing yards which are a gift this weekend. Go ahead and take the ALT passing yards for both QB’s to throw over 200+ yards, both QB’s have hit this number 100% of the time in their last 10 games.

Finally, we can’t leave CMC out of this thing. He didn’t play in the last game of the season, but he’s scored a TD in 7 out of his last 9 games played, he’s a must-have this weekend against a poor rushing defense.

  • Purdy ALT Pass TD 1+ (-1600)
  • Love ALT Pass TD 1+ (-520)
  • 49ers ATL Spread -2.5 (-430)
  • Love 200+ Yards Passing (-310)
  • Purdy 200+ Yards Passing (-800)
  • McCaffery ATD (-350)
  • +177

MOONSHOT ALERT!

You know we can’t go a weekend without a MOONSHOT parlay for Saturday’s NFL Playoff Round 2!!!!
